020416: read in two sittings, this argentine work surprises me with mature, fascinating, inventive depiction of alien invasion. perhaps in part because the artwork is stylistically primitive, not art but sequential, not expressive much as descriptive, this work engages me rather more than work that is conventionally well-drawn. the plot, the heroes, the suburban world, is not necessarily better rendered than the usual zombie graphic, but if you look closely, if you are alert, there is some political consciousness at work. this attitude does not overwhelm the action story, nor create conventionally happy ending perhaps expected in the hollywood version...
